Plans to renovate and expand the 112,000 square metre Al-Nahda Park in the middle of the Saudi capital were made public by the Riyadh Municipality. According to the objectives of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 for improving quality of life, the development plan intends to enhance the entertainment sector, promote cultural and social events, and provide a comfortable environment for pedestrians and bicycle riders.
The development work is being done in two phases, according to the municipality. The first phase is the repair of the park's 1,700-meter-long southern section. The second stage involves creating the 1,800-meter-long northern portion.
The development of the park will blend cultural identity with contemporary designs, highlight diversity to serve all groups and ages, and develop the overall landscape of the park by incorporating several aesthetically pleasing and exciting elements, such as sculptures. These characteristics will characterise the implementation work.
The park, according to the municipality, will include 15 evolving components, including a health path, a multipurpose covered hall, a plaza with waterfalls and fountains, a football pitch, an open club and children's sports. Additionally, visitors will be able to hire bicycles.
