According to the Jeddah Astronomy Society, a partial moon eclipse will be visible to people all around the Kingdom on Saturday night. The head of the society, Majid Abu Zahra, stated that the eclipse could be seen from anywhere in the nation around 10:35 p.m. when the moon started to move into the Earth's shadow.
When the Earth passes in front of the sun and the moon, sunlight cannot reach the moon, and a lunar eclipse occurs. A partial lunar eclipse happens when only a portion of Earth's shadow completely obscures the moon, whereas a total lunar eclipse happens when the moon and sun are on opposite sides of the planet.
According to Abu Zahra, the eclipse, which is the final one of the year, will peak at about 11:14 p.m. when the moon passes through the Earth's shadow from west to east. A lunar eclipse may be seen with the unaided eye and doesn't require any protective gear, unlike a solar eclipse.
