The "Centre for Space Futures," the first of its type inside the World Economic Forum's Fourth Industrial Revolution Network, was launched, the Saudi Space Agency stated on Sunday. This launch is part of the Kingdom's efforts to strengthen its position as a leader in the space industry and to encourage the expansion of innovation, research, and the economy in this crucial area.
The center also revealed the members of its board of directors, which consists of a number of foreign specialists, including Eng. Ammar Nagadi, Deputy Minister of Economy and Planning; Dr. Mohammed Altamimi, the head of the Center's board of directors and CEO of the Saudi Space Agency; Jeremy Jurgens, Managing Director of the World Economic Forum; Susmita Mohanty, Founder of Spaceport SARABHAI; Kam Ghaffarian, Co-Founder and CEO of the board of directors of "Axiom Space"; and Martijn Blanken, CEO of Neo Space Group. The board has the experience and strategic insight needed to accomplish its lofty objectives.
The "Centre for Space Futures" seeks to provide a global platform to support technical innovation, create the best regulatory regulations, and optimize the economic and environmental value of the space industry. It also gives the Kingdom access to the community of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and allows it to work closely with international partners to accomplish its ambitious space sector goals, which improves its vision for the future.
