NewsThis Ramadan, stargazers have gathered in the Jeddah Historic District. Modern telescopes have made it possible for visitors and tourists to view the moon and stars during the "Al-Marqab" special event, which took place in the Al-Balad region.
The programme, which has been led by astronomy professionals, has been a fun and instructive experience that has taught participants about the many phases of the moon over the holy month. "Al-Marqab" has enriched guests' awareness of this holy time by promoting conversations on the significance of Ramadan, the lunar cycles, and the larger area of astronomy.
The Ministry of Culture is continuously working to revitalise historical places and promote cross-cultural and cross-historical contacts. By holding these kinds of activities, the Ministry hopes to draw attention to the Jeddah Historic District's cultural significance—especially during the holy month of Ramadan—and strengthen the region's standing as a hub for astronomical research and cultural legacy.
