“Al-Waha” and “Salah Al-Din” neighborhoods have been renamed as the “King Salman Neighborhood"

As part of efforts to develop them, Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced the renaming of two Riyadh neighbourhoods after his father King Salman.

Al-Waha and Salah Al-Din neighbourhoods have been renamed as the "King Salman Neighbourhood," where the region will be renovated to have improved recreational opportunities and basic amenities, according to a report from the Saudi state agency SPA on Sunday.

The neighbourhood, which spans 6.6 sq km in the centre of the city and is next to King Salman Park, will also include Salmani architecture, a design that combines heritage and contemporary.

According to SPA, the goal of these development initiatives is to promote population and economic growth.

The renaming of the areas was done to honour King Salman's five decade reign as Riyadh's provincial ruler.

According to SPA, this project is a part of the crown prince's attempts to improve Riyadh and establish it as one of the most significant economic and tourism capitals worldwide as part of the Vision 2030 initiative.
