News EventThe Camel Year 2024 program will come to an end on December 26–28 in Riyadh with a Camel Festival hosted by the Saudi Ministry of Culture. In addition to a number of related events, a presentation showcasing the most noteworthy accomplishments of the cultural year will be screened throughout the festival. At the festival's closing ceremony on the third day, partners and sponsors who helped to make the Camel Year better will be recognized.
The Camel Festival seeks to increase awareness of the cultural significance of camels in Saudi society as well as pride in the components of the country's cultural heritage.
It emphasizes the historical and cultural significance of camels in society, strengthens heritage protection, and symbolizes the significant cultural effect of camels. The festival encourages camel-related businesses and arts, including handicrafts, traditional cuisine, and camel restaurants, while also honoring heritage and hosting events that foster pride in ethnic identity.
Four modern cultural events centered around camels are part of the festival. The first is Camel Paths, a modern cultural march that incorporates camels and performance groups to represent the various kinds of camels and the camel-related performing arts.
The second is "Camel Hump," an experience that uses light projection technology to let visitors see camels travel across the Kingdom's scenic landscape while mounted on a model that resembles a camel.
A special corner that highlights the accomplishments of the Year of the Camel, including a number of activities like the Paris March, the Camel Ajla, the Huwayal Melody, the Camel Decorations, and the Mizyouna character, is the fourth. The third is "Al-Wajnaa," a screen that shows 3D animated content about camels.
