NewsFor the pilgrims who are performing the Hajj this year and are traveling from all over the world to the Kingdom, the Ministry of Interior has introduced the digital identity service. The service's launch is a component of the Saudi government's attempts to capitalize on digital transformation and use technology to better serve God's guests and accomplish the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
According to the ministry, the digital identity for pilgrims was created in collaboration with the Hajj and Umrah Ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). It allows pilgrims to electronically verify their identity via the Absher and Tawakkalna platforms, making it easier for them to use the ID throughout their lifetime spiritual journey. This service improves and enriches the pilgrims' experience by raising the standard of services offered to them.
The launch coincides with the goal of offering pilgrims the best possible standards of care, which includes staying up to date with the most recent advancements in digital transformation and providing services to God's guests while they are in Saudi Arabia.
