E-bracelet with full data on health conditions enables pilgrims to get quick healthcare services at their accommodations

Several Hajj service providers and enterprises rely on pilgrims' e-bracelets to obtain detailed information about their health problems. As a result, the language barrier of pilgrims no longer prevents them from receiving prompt healthcare treatments at their lodging. Reading the bracelet's barcode offers integrated information on the pilgrim's health state, medical history, and medicines. The "bracelet" enables health institutions near pilgrims' lodging to identify sick pilgrims' conditions and treat them immediately, or refer them to the hospital if required. It also assists physicians in Makkah hospitals and holy places in determining the patient's health status.

According to Dr. Jamal Ghonaim, deputy supervisor of the Tawafa Organisation for Arab Countries' General Services Department, there are doctors, nurses, and medical students of both sexes working at the health facilities programme, and about 100 specialists, including 73 health practitioners, in the pilgrims' accommodation accompanying them throughout their journey. He stated that there are 20 physicians with extensive expertise available around the clock at the company's call centre to answer to enquiries and contacts from health practitioners in pilgrims' camps in the case of an emergency.

For his part, Muhammad Maajini, chairman of the company's board of directors, emphasised that the programme aims to improve and raise the level of services provided to pilgrims, as well as monitor the health status of pilgrims in their camps in order to relieve pressure on hospitals and health centres in Makkah and the holy sites, particularly for mild cases that do not necessitate approaching hospitals and health centres.
