Extension of the application period for Saudi Art History scholarships until Aug. 9 announced by the Saudi Ministry of Culture

The Saudi Ministry of Culture announced today that the application time for Saudi Art History scholarships has been extended until August 9, 2023. The study, according to the Saudi Press Agency, promotes the growth of Saudi artists and the forces that influence them: the critical, philosophical, and cultural views that define creativity in the Kingdom. The scholarship, which was established in May 2022, has covered multiple research subjects in the history of the arts in the Kingdom, including visual arts of all types, performing arts, music, and film, and is aimed at academics interested in the history of these diverse fields.

According to the news release, the scholarship analyses educational and artistic trends to contribute to the expansion of the Kingdom's creative, cultural, and artistic sectors. The ministry claimed that after accepting an applicant's first draft, it will offer half of the grant money, with the remaining amount paid once the whole study is presented and accepted, with a declaration of approval of publishing provided to the ministry.

Scholarship aligns with the aims of the National Strategy for Culture deriving from Saudi Vision 2030, in addition to bridging research gaps with specialised academics to give information on the growth of the arts in Saudi Arabia.
