Fines will be imposed on foreign firms for violations related to income tax

For income tax infractions, international companies will be subject to fines from the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority. Foreign companies who fail to file returns on time, pay taxes on time, or register in the system will be subject to fines. This was clarified by the authorities in the user manual for the system used to collect income tax from overseas firms.

For sums of SR20,000 or less, the authorities permitted the payment of taxes or penalties using Mada cards. It said that if there were no further financial commitments, paying the bill through the SADAD system would immediately result in the issuance of a zakat certificate. Additionally, paying the payment is seen as an acknowledgement of the accuracy of the information provided in the declaration.
