NewsApplications are now being accepted for iftar meal service providers at the Grand Mosque in Makkah during Ramadan, subject to certain requirements and criteria, according to the General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque.
Providers are obliged to enter into contracts with factories and warehouses recognised by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority or approved catering firms, and they can electronically pick the meal location. While charity organisations and endowments are eligible to request up to ten sufras, individual benefactors are only permitted to seek two.
The meals, which include things like pitted dates, cakes, pastries, and drinks, have to follow the authorised packing guidelines that may be found via an internet connection later on.
The president anticipates that these actions will enhance guests' experiences at the Grand Mosque and offer exceptional services tailored to their requirements throughout Ramadan.
During the holy month, the president also hosts iftar prayers in the Prophet's Mosque for those who are fasting. It is anticipated that more than 8.5 million iftar meals would be served to those who are fasting during this Ramadan at specific iftar sites in the mosque and its grounds.
In addition, Zamzam water services will be provided to over 45 million beneficiaries. These services include the distribution of drinking cups at 18,000 Zamzam water coolers located throughout the Prophet's Mosque, as well as 2.5 million bottles of Zamzam water set aside for worshippers in the Two Holy Mosques. 1,205 drinking fountains also have been set up and are dispersed around the mosque's outside courtyards.
