Health insurance rules for domestic workers have been approved by the Saudi Council of Ministers

NewsThe adoption of health insurance requirements for domestic employees was authorised on Tuesday by the Saudi Arabian Council of Ministers. A group composed of representatives from several organisations and chaired by the Council of Health Insurance developed the regulations.
If a home hires four or more domestic helpers, the regulations will be in effect.

The Cabinet opened the meeting by extending its warm greeting to the heads of state who would be attending the 32nd summit meeting of the Arab League Council, which the Kingdom would host next Friday. The Cabinet expressed its desire to maintain ongoing collaboration at all levels.
The Cabinet discussed the most recent political developments in the country and around the globe, particularly the progress of the initiative to end the Sudanese crisis in light of the agreements made during the initial negotiations between the warring parties regarding their commitment to protecting civilians. The Cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom's determination to continuing its efforts until security and peace are experienced by Sudan and its amiable people.
Salman Al-Dosari, the minister of media, noted that the Cabinet discussed Saudi Arabia's interest in fostering relations with various nations and advancing them to new heights through visits and meetings, as well as building bridges with multilateral organisations to improve cooperation and coordination on issues of shared interest.
In this context, the Cabinet commended the Kingdom's participation in the 9th Summit of Heads of State and/or Government of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) in Guatemala, highlighting the Kingdom's affirmation, during the meetings on the sidelines of the summit, of its keenness to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation with the countries of the ACS and its commitment to collaborate with global partners to achieve sustainable development goals by 2030.
According to the minister, the Cabinet applauded the anti-drug security campaign's demonstrable successes in halting the operations of criminal networks and attempts to market drugs as well as in preventing smuggling into the Kingdom in order to safeguard its inhabitants and maintain its gains.
Following a briefing on a number of the items on its agenda, the Cabinet made the following decisions:
A drafted memorandum of agreement between the Saudi Arabian and Turkish ministries of finance and the Treasury was also given permission to be discussed with the Turkish side in order to improve cooperation in the financial sector.
It was agreed to move the Ministry of Education's jurisdiction to grant teaching and educational consulting licences from the Ministry of Commerce.
