Khasirat Ayn Zubaida has transformed into a destination for visitors and residents in Makkah

The open market area at Khasirat Ayn Zubaida's cultural and leisure centre has brought a touch of antiquity to displaying and selling heritage and cultural goods, such as wooden crafts, vintage apparel, and accessories. Khasirat Ayn Zubaida is now a popular tourist attraction for Makkah locals and tourists alike, thanks to the efforts of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites and its partners.

One of Makkah's most ancient sites, the Ayn Zubaida stream is important to Muslims as a freshwater supply and a place of respite for travellers. It also represents the sacred city's rich history and legacy.

The commission's plan to conserve Makkah's ancient places includes developing and restoring Khasirat Ayn Zubaida. This plan aims to improve tourist experiences, raise cultural awareness, and encourage historical tourism in the Kingdom.

Launched in January, the outdoor market features a variety of exhibitions and artefacts in stalls set up by neighbourhood families. As a landmark in Makkah, Khasirat Ayn Zubaida is one of the numerous new attractions in the Kingdom designed to encourage historical tourism.
