13 Mar 2024
NewsKing Salman has given his approval for the commencement of the 4th National Campaign for Charitable Work on Friday until March 15 by means of Ehsan, the National Platform for Charitable Work. To increase charitable contributions and optimise its impact, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, the King has approved the project. According to a report by the Saudi Press Agency, the campaign would run the entire month of Ramadan and accept donations until the conclusion.
An important aspect of Islamic Shariah is supporting humanitarian activity, which is something that King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and Prime Minister Salman have always supported. The goals of the campaign are to provide everyone the chance to engage in humanitarian activities and build communal bonds during the auspicious month of Ramadan, when blessings for good deeds are increased.
The head of the Ehsan Platform's Supervisory Committee, Dr. Majed Al-Qasabi, is the minister of trade. He expressed gratitude to the King and the Crown Prince for their continuous support of the platform since its establishment by royal order to empower and advance the non-profit sector. Throughout the campaign, donors may make digital contributions to a range of development and charity projects. Donations to the Ehsan Endowment Fund are also accepted.
All transactions take place safely via the Ehsan app, the Ehsan.sa website, or by giving the 8001247000 unified number a call.
The Ehsan platform was developed by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) and is supervised by a committee made up of thirteen government entities. This strong governance framework supports national initiatives to strengthen the charity sector's digital capacity and establish the Kingdom as a global leader in charitable contributions. Since its inception, the site has benefited over 4.8 million people from various qualifying categories, having collected over SR 5 billion ($1,338,287,450) in donations.
