NewsThe King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language has announced that registration for its prize is now available to people and organizations worldwide. Registration expires on June 30, and the total value of the prizes granted is around SR1.6 million ($427,000), according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The prize promotes the Arabic language and recognizes the efforts of individuals and institutions that serve it, urging them to continue its development, preserve its integrity, and develop new methods of utilizing Arabic.
According to Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, secretary-general of the academy, the prize is part of the school's efforts to nurture Arabic, whether via promoting the language or supporting its status locally and internationally.
The prize is divided into four categories: teaching and studying Arabic, computerizing the Arabic language and supplying it with current technologies, Arabic language research and scientific studies, and raising linguistic awareness and establishing linguistic communities.
The branches were formed to ensure that the prize's objectives are satisfied while also improving the most important aspects impacting and connected to the language's future development.
