MHRSD announced that it has suspended disbursement of the unemployment insurance benefits to more than 7,300 beneficiaries

The distribution of unemployment insurance payments to more than 7,300 recipients has been delayed, according to a statement released on Wednesday by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD). After it was shown that they were not serious about looking for work and had turned down the job prospects presented to them by the Human Resources Development Fund (HADAF), they were denied payment of their social insurance pension for the installment made last month. Ages of people whose pension payments have been halted range from 18 to 40, according to the Ministry.

It was pointed out that the Social Insurance Law's fifth paragraph of Article 17 states that if the Ministry can demonstrate that a beneficiary who is able to work is not looking for work, hasn't applied to employment platforms that the Ministry has approved, or hasn't accepted offers of suitable employment or training, the pension will be terminated.

To avoid halting the payment of the social insurance pension, the Ministry urged all beneficiaries who are able to work to take advantage of the training, qualification, and employment opportunities provided to them by the appropriate authorities and to apply for open positions through recognised employment platforms.

Through the revised Social Insurance Law, the Ministry hopes to give beneficiaries the tools they need to become financially independent and productive members of society by providing them with rehabilitation, training, and work opportunities.
