NewsThe first step of the decision to allow the recording the contracts of the localization project of operation and maintenance in public organisations as an electronic service inside the Qiwa platform has been implemented by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD).
Giant enterprises are included in the first phase of the decision's implementation, which started on December 1, 2023, according to MHRSD. Large establishments will be included in the second phase, which will begin on June 1, 2024.
The third phase, which would include enterprises of all other sizes, is scheduled to start on December 1, 2024. The goal of the decision is to monitor the localization of operation and maintenance contracts within public bodies and the degree to which establishments comply with the contracted-for targeted localization rates.
Additionally, it seeks to expand Saudi women's and men's access to the labour market. The ruling will apply to businesses that have contracts with government organisations and businesses where the state invests a minimum of 51%.
In addition to the information technology operation and maintenance contracts, this will involve many contracts for operation, maintenance, city cleaning, road operation and maintenance, and catering.
The resolution requires establishments having operation and maintenance contracts with public bodies to submit the contract data via the localization of operation and maintenance contract service on the electronic platform (Qiwa).
The approval of the service for documenting contracts of the localization initiative of operation and maintenance in public entities to become an e-service within the ministry's electronic services offered through the "Qiwa" platform was directed by MHRSD Minister Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi in July 2022.
