NewsSaudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman will attend the World Economic Forum's (WEF) Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development on April 28 and 29 in Riyadh. The two-day event, hosted by Saudi Arabia, will bring together approximately 1000 global leaders, including heads of state and government, thought leaders from the public and commercial sectors, as well as representatives from international organizations, academic institutions, and non-governmental organizations. The Special Meeting, which will focus on three major themes: Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development, will address today's most critical global development concerns.
The sessions will feature productive dialogues to improve global collaboration and stimulate collective international action to devise long-term solutions in a world marked by growing social and economic disparities, with developed nations surpassing pre-pandemic levels of activity and emerging economies still playing catch-up, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Under Global Collaboration, discussions will focus on how to overcome today's geopolitical upheavals and difficulties, particularly the rising humanitarian crises in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, while also fostering inclusive dialogues between the Global South and North.
The Special Meeting is a continuation of Saudi Arabia's long-standing technical and policy-making collaboration with the World Economic Forum, building on the Kingdom's active participation and contributions at the Forum's annual meetings in Davos, Switzerland.
The Special Meeting's agenda, which has been designed to revive the spirit of cooperation and collaboration, includes several panel discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities. It represents a unique convergence of global leaders and experts committed to forging a path toward a more resilient, sustainable, and equitable world.
The choice of Riyadh as the host city for the WEF Special Meeting is expected to demonstrate Saudi Arabia's global position in promoting international cooperation and collaboration. Riyadh has evolved as a global capital and platform for thought leadership and action, innovation, and solutions with global effect, according to the introduction of Saudi Vision 2030.
