NewsDuring this year's Hajj season, the National Centre for Environmental Compliance (NCEC) has expanded the number of its air quality monitoring stations in Makkah, Madinah, and the holy sites by 70%. The Kingdom gives the air quality index top priority in order to enhance circumstances for pilgrims, according to Dr. Mohammad Al-Daghriri, Director of Environment Data at NCEC. Nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide, ground-level ozone, carbon monoxide, and particulate matter smaller than 10 and 2.5 micrograms are the six main pollutants taken into account in the index computations at these locations.
