Pilgrim-mobility enhancement challenge aimed to enhance pilgrim services has concluded

NewsAt the university's Makkah headquarters, the General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Umm Al-Qura University, and Wadi Makkah Co. recently wrapped off the pilgrim-mobility upgrade challenge.
Beginning on May 12, the one-week event's goal was to improve pilgrim services through creative means, with a particular emphasis on helping individuals with disabilities complete Hajj rituals like Tawaf and Sa'i.
Four categories were included: manual wheelchairs, electric cars, golf carts, and trailers. Additionally, there was an open area for imaginative mobility concepts.
In addition to 190 teams and 19 mentors, the challenge featured 10 judges and 118 mentoring sessions.
An exhibition showcasing contributions and creative ideas from organizing bodies and participating teams was held during the closing ceremony, which was attended by Ghazi bin Dhafer Al-Shahrani, CEO of the general authority, and Dr. Moaddi bin Mohammed Aal Madhhab, President of Umm Al-Qura University.
The winners were honored as the ceremony came to an end. The Masari team won first place for creating a smart path system for electric carts; the Maseer team took second place for creating ergonomic, comfortable carts powered by AI; the Naqiloon team took third place for creating Tawaf trailers that were customized for a particular location; the Tarrayath team won fourth place for creating a sensor-based device that protects pilgrims in the Grand Mosque; and the Mu'een team won fifth place for creating an app that links pilgrims and cart drivers inside the Two Holy Mosques.
