The proposal for public bus transport services was launched in the Taif Governorate by Prince Saud bin Nahar. Dr. Rumaih Al-Rumaih, the acting president of the Transport General Authority, Taif Mayor Nasser Al-Rehaili, and SAPTCO CEO Turki Al-Subaihi were all present for the occasion. The first project in the Kingdom's public bus transit projects' initial phase was started, and it is a crucial one. The governorate's most significant centres and landmarks are connected by nine main tracks, which are intended to provide service to more than two million people yearly.
With 182 bus stop locations and 58 buses running continuously for 18 hours, the initiative will help inhabitants of the governorate, as well as tourists, by satisfying their needs and enhancing their travel experiences. Along with improving road safety, clearing up gridlock, and lowering carbon emissions and environmental pollution, this also reduces traffic.
The operating business, SAPTCO, has made an electronic application accessible so that consumers may simply and conveniently book the service using the Taif Buses application (TAIF BUSES). The waiting stations and bus stops that are part of the public bus transportation project provide seats for waiting passengers, signboards, passenger waiting areas, bus stopping places, as well as pedestrian crossing routes as its key features.
