Red Sea Global launched Saudi Arabia’s first seaplane company named Fly Red Sea to transport guests to the Kingdom’s Red Sea island resorts

Red Sea Global inaugurated the Kingdom's first seaplane firm on Wednesday, offering visitor transportation to the Red Sea island resorts. On its website, www.redseaglobal.com, RSG stated that the firm, Fly Red Sea, would launch with a fleet of four Cessna Caravan 208 seaplanes that will operate on sustainable aviation fuel.

The Red Sea International (RSI) Airport in Hanak, Tabuk region—which features a dedicated seaplane runway running parallel to the main terminal—will serve as the home base for Fly Red Sea. Oct. 11 marked the inaugural seaplane flight of Fly Red Sea and the arrival of the first visitors at the new airport: a VIP entourage consisting of Saudi ministers and other officials who arrived on a specially-liveried Saudia flight from Riyadh.

The airport was established to support the Kingdom's massive tourism projects, Amaala and Red Sea Development, and it opened for business on September 21, 2023.  According to schedule, Fly Red Sea's fleet will grow to nine seaplanes by 2028 and more than 20 by 2030 to keep up with the destination's phases of growth.

When the new tourist destination is finished in 2030, it will include fifty resorts with up to 8,000 hotel rooms and more than 1,000 residential buildings spread across 22 islands and six inland locations. According to redseaglobal.com, the location will also have upscale marinas, golf courses, entertainment, food and beverage establishments, and recreational amenities.
