NewsLaunching a ground-breaking effort to evaluate the key ecosystems in the Arabian Gulf, Saudi Arabia is taking a major step toward protecting its marine treasures. The initiative, which is being led by the National Center for Wildlife (NCW), is to develop a thorough plan for safeguarding marine biodiversity and guaranteeing the Gulf waters' long-term health.
According to a statement from Dr. Mohammed Qurban, CEO of NCW, scientists will assess the health of the mangrove forests, seagrass beds, and coral reefs. They will recognize threats to these ecosystems from both natural and human sources, and they will create plans to reduce the risks. In the end, the project will create a management plan for the preservation and restoration of coastal ecosystems using the data gathered.
