News EventThee Ain village in Al-Baha is hosting a historic festival from November 18 to 23 that is being organised by Saudi Arabia's historic Authority. By highlighting the village's natural, human, and historical value, the festival seeks to promote and conserve cultural heritage.
To enhance their heritage experience and acquaint them with the Kingdom's antiquities, the authority has arranged several cultural events for visitors and members of all segments of society.
A section devoted to "interactive crafts" will be included during the event, with demonstrations by skilled artisans teaching attendees how to weave and make ceramics.
The "heritage games" section provides a variety of activities from the ancestors' past, and the "photography corner" is another area with photographic mirrors to reflect the historical buildings and snap souvenir photographs in front of them.
Another location is the "Heritage Council," which has displays of artefacts, ornaments, and a heritage design pattern common in the historical structures in Al-Baha that are the focus of the event. The "photo exhibition" will feature images from the Kingdom's most notable historical and archaeological locations. Other sections include "heritage tasting" and "craftsmen," the latter of which features a variety of displays such woodworking, sculpting, agricultural goods, daggers, swords, tanning, and diverse crafts made by the people of Al-Baha.
The Heritage Authority hopes that by holding this event, it would raise national consciousness, illuminate Saudi legacy, and improve the sense of Saudi identity and solidarity. Along with these goals, it also seeks to protect the region's social values that have been passed down from generation to generation, highlight craftsmanship, enhance visitors' experiences at heritage sites, and safeguard cultural assets.
