NewsThe Saudi Arabian Transport General Authority (TGA) has warned against the unlicensed transportation of people and announced an SR5,000 punishment for those who violate the rules. By emphasising the availability of incentives and support programmes for unlicensed carriers who affiliate with licenced businesses, the authority has also urged unlicensed carriers to do so in an effort to promote compliance and raise the calibre of transportation services.
The #DontrideWithNonLicensed campaign was started by the authority in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, the Pilgrim Experience Programme, the Public Prosecution, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), and MATARAT Holding Company in an attempt to guarantee safe and dependable travel. The purpose of this campaign is to increase public awareness of the value of utilising authorised carriers and providing safe, trustworthy transportation services to and from the airports in the Kingdom.
For their mobility needs, visitors to Jeddah's King Abdulaziz International Airport have access to about 2,000 taxis, over 55 vehicle rental agencies, public transit buses, licenced passenger transport applications, and the Haramain High-Speed Railway. In order to enhance the traveller experience, licenced transportation businesses provide several services including real-time trip tracking and electronic payment alternatives that guarantee passengers' comfort and safety.
