NewsThe Saudi Media Forum is slated to take the lead in the world sports journalism arena, showcasing the dynamic sports scene of the Kingdom, including its accomplished international athletes as well as its colourful stadiums and fervent spectators. Gianni Merlo, the president of the International Sports Press Association, and José Félix Díaz, the chief editor of the daily Marca, will speak at the event about the notable changes in sports journalism throughout the world.
The sessions led by Merlo and Díaz, with the theme "Saudi Sports: Grand Transformations from Local to Global," will focus on how Saudi Arabia uses sports events strategically to create a special relationship between media and sports, highlighting the role of sports as a form of soft power and their influence on perceptions both domestically and internationally.
