
As part of a larger network expansion strategy, Saudia, the national airline of Saudi Arabia, has increased its footprint in Europe by launching direct flights to Vienna and Athens.
According to a statement from the airline, it will run three weekly flights to the Austrian capital, starting with an Airbus A320 service from King Abdulaziz International Airport to Vienna International Airport.
Beginning in June, Saudi Arabia intends to expand the service by adding flights from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
Additionally, the aviator introduced seasonal flights to the capital of Greece, which will operate three times a week. The first trip, which is also operated by an Airbus A320, left Riyadh on April 2.
Additionally, beginning in June 2025, the national flag carrier plans to launch flights from Jeddah to Athens.
The routes are a part of an earlier stated intention to launch 11 additional destinations this year, including Malaga, Bali, Venice, Athens, and Nice.
