Special emergency services has been set up to deal with visitors to the Grand Mosque in Makkah during Ramadan

The Saudi Press Agency said on Tuesday that special emergency services have been established to handle guests of the Grand Mosque in Makkah during Ramadan.

Dr. Mustafa Baljoun, the director of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority's Makkah branch, reported that over 35 ambulance centres had been set up, including 21 internal and 8 outdoor centres in addition to six at the Grand Mosque. He said that the facilities will be running over 80 ambulances that were outfitted with the newest medical technology, and that around 900 employees would be assisting emergency teams.

The authority would supply 150 bicycles, scooters, 10 motorbikes, 14 golf carts and seven crisis management vehicles for effective transportation within the Grand Mosque courtyards. Furthermore, the authorities would make 900 volunteers accessible to assist guests.

The plan's main goal has been to handle serious emergency situations during religious ceremonies by providing fast medical attention and swift transportation to the Grand Mosque's closest hospital. In areas with a large concentration of worshippers, emergency responders will step up services during the final ten days of Ramadan.
