NewsA specialised training programme was developed by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in partnership with the German technology behemoth SAP Global with the goal of evaluating local digital potential both virtually and physically.
Vice Minister at the Ministry of Communications and Informational Technology Haytham Al-Ohali and a number of company representatives were present for the programme launch on Wednesday in Riyadh. It is one of the results of a memorandum of understanding that was signed between the two parties at the international tech conference LEAP. The MoU intends to reinforce the Kingdom's status as the largest digital talent incubator and a regional technological hub.
The deputy minister of future jobs and capabilities at the Ministry of Communications and Informational Technology, Faris Al-Saqabi, said that just like how they are proud of their accomplishment today and this partnership, they are also eager to witness young talents work to be future engineers and realize their ambitious goals that will help shape country’s journey toward Vision 2030.
He also said that the program will offer an educational experience at the intersection of technology, business, and the humanities, building multi-dimensional competencies that will enable participants to be future-ready, to contribute to the journey of digital transformation, and to become lifelong learners.
Al-Saqabi added that during this exceptional experience, participants will acquire both technical skills and soft skills in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analysis, various SAP software technologies, leadership, and communication.
NEOM, Qiddiya, the Diriyah Gate Development Authority, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Sports, Riyadh Airports, Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Co., the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Solutions by STC, and Saudi Entertainment Ventures are just a few of the top national organisations that will contribute talent to the programme, which will train 55 Saudi Arabians in fundamental and emerging technologies.
As part of the Vision 2030 Human Capability Development Programme, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology's Future Skills initiative offered specialised courses to students who wanted to excel in the digital sector. These graduates from the Saudi Digital Academy will be among those who attend.
The ministry is eager to encourage and empower those interested in pursuing a career in digital technology and provide them with the resources, including training in SAP software, to do so, as evidenced by the introduction of the new training programme with SAP.
Data analysis, machine learning, AI, quantum statistics, metaverse, and application development are all included in SAP software. SAP HANA is an in-memory, column-oriented relational database management system created by SAP SE.
According to Saudi Vision 2030, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology seeks to strengthen the Kingdom's digital capabilities, invest in the expansion of its future projects, and promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and investment in the digital industry.
