SRCA has started installing Automated External Defibrillators in the mosques of Riyadh region

Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are now being installed in the mosques in the Riyadh region by the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA).

The Mamur Mosque in Riyadh's Qurtubah area has the first of the devices installed as part of a number of projects the authorities have started.

By placing AEDs in public spaces and enacting the first responder's duty, the SRCA stated that this campaign hopes to save lives.

According to scientific research, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using an AED quickly after a cardiac arrest are the two most crucial elements impacting the recovery of the pulse and respiration.

SRCA acknowledged that it has set up specialized training programs to instruct people in the fundamentals of performing CPR and using an AED.

The Two Holy Mosques, Holy Sites, and many schools have previously received AEDs from the government.
