Taif Governor Prince Saud bin Nahar inaugurated the Taif Summer Fruits Festival on August 2 in Al-Ruddaf Park. Through a variety of events conducted on the main stage over three days, the festival emphasises the richness of Taif's seasonal agriculture and helps farmers. The festival will also feature a wild fig and green plum crop exhibition, as well as a market for local families to sell their wares.
According to Majid Al-Khalif, director-general of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture branch in the Makkah region, the festival is supervised by the ministry in Taif, with the participation of government and private agencies, as well as more than 30 farmers, beekeepers, and local family business representatives.
Hani Al-Qadi, head of the ministry's office in Taif, emphasised the ministry's commitment to assisting farmers and encouraging production, as well as marketing agricultural products through festivals and events. Farmers sell agricultural commodities at local markets around the governorate, as well as marketplaces in Makkah, Jeddah, and Riyadh. Taif's most popular seasonal fruits include apricots, peaches, prickly pears, pomegranates, quinces, berries, and grapes.
