The "Talents of Architecture and Design" programme was launched on Sunday in Riyadh by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, known as Mawhiba. Mawhiba hopes that by doing so, it would lay the groundwork for bright intermediate and secondary school students to pursue careers in architecture and design.
The event is organised in collaboration with the Architecture and Design Commission and is overseen by the Ministry of Culture.
One of the program's goals is to lay the groundwork for an integrated journey of establishing, developing, and honing architecture and design skills through creative thinking, as well as to introduce students to a variety of vocabularies related to planning, urban design, architecture, interior design, sustainability, and environmental design.
The organisation is also planning to integrate the programme with academic programmes throughout the summer. More than 130 male and female students will benefit from the programme, which will be given among the units provided in academic programmes. Six groups of students will be formed in three cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam.
The programme will begin on Sunday and last for three weeks. It will be carried out in collaboration with many renowned Saudi universities, including King Saud University, Prince Sultan University, Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University, and King Abdulaziz University.
