The Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques stated that it is ready to welcome the first Umrah pilgrims of the year. Maher Al-Zahrani, the presidency's official spokesperson, said the administration had 5,000 manual and 3,000 electric wheelchairs on standby, as well as people to operate them, to ensure a smooth journey for worshippers who needed help. The Tanaqol app may be used to reserve these wheelchairs.
Trained personnel are ready to serve, monitor the areas and direct people to the appropriate prayer locations. Doors will be manned, and guests will be escorted throughout to allow for simple admission and leave.
The president pledges to offer critical services in the northern extension of the Grand Mosque, such as filling Zamzam water containers, managing air conditioning, and providing adequate shelves to keep copies of the Qur'an. The presidency is also in charge of monitoring the audio and lighting equipment, the cleanliness of the restrooms, and the operation of escalators to move worshippers, particularly the elderly. There will be 200 certified supervisors on the ground who will monitor the areas, as well as 4,000 employees who will wash and clean the Grand Mosque 10 times every day. This is in addition to having 800 personnel on the ground distributing 4,500 bottles of Zamzam water to worshippers throughout the Grand Mosque. Every day, about 500,000 litres of Zamzam water are drank at the site during Umrah.
