NewsThe operating schedule for the 2019 Hajj season was revealed on Thursday by the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques Affairs. In the presence of the Minister for Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, the head of the presidency, Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, made the detailed operational plan announcement. The strategy is centered on a number of key axes that are associated with the presidency's strategic objectives for Hajj 1444 AH based on the Saudi Vision 2030.
"The operational plan for this year's Hajj season is the largest in the history of the presidency," Al-Sudais said in his opening remarks at the media forum. "After the end of the corona pandemic and the announcement of the return of Hajj pilgrims in the millions," he continued, "as per an integrated system of services prepared by the wise leadership."
The plan, he said, is a continuation of the exceptional accomplishments and long-term goals established by the policies of the government, which is headed by King Salman, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and the Crown Prince, who constantly monitor all the services offered to pilgrims.
Al-Sudais said that the Presidency offered more than 8,000 volunteer opportunities in 10 fields at the two Holy Mosques and more than 200,000 service hours throughout the Hajj season. He emphasised that the presidency offers translation services, geographical direction, and information for the pilgrims across 49 stations in 51 different foreign languages to improve the guiding function of the two Holy Mosques.
Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, spoke at the opening of the operational plan about the integration and coordination between the Ministry of Hajj and the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Holy Mosque and the Holy Mosque of the Prophet in order to serve the pilgrims, particularly with the return of millions of pilgrims, and to offer the best services so that they can perform their rituals in peace and comfort.
