Vehicles, expatriates, and residents without entry permits to Makkah will be turned back from checkpoints on roads from Monday

Residents will be turned away from security checkpoints on routes going to the Holy Capital starting on Monday, according to a statement from the General Directorate of Public Security.

This is in accordance with the guidelines for conducting Hajj, which provide that locals seeking to visit the Holy Capital must receive a permit from the appropriate authorities.

The rules governing the Hajj require returning vehicles and foreign residents to their home countries, with the exception of those who work at the holy sites and have valid entry permits, those who possess a resident's identity card issued in the holy capital, and those who have valid Umrah or Hajj permits.

For the Hajj season of 1444 AH, the General Directorate of Passports has begun receiving requests for issuing entry permits to the Holy Capital electronically for domestic workers and non-Saudi family members, employees residing in establishments based in the Holy Capital, seasonal work visa holders, and contractors with those establishments registered in the "Ajeer" system.

With the platform of "Absher Individuals" providing permits for domestic workers and non-Saudi family members, and the service of entry permits to the Holy Capital being accessible through the electronic "Muqeem" portal for all agencies, the service aims to simplify procedures for beneficiaries, cut down on time, and save effort.
