14th national program to identify and support gifted Saudi students in science and technology was launched at a ceremony in Riyadh

A ceremony in Riyadh on Wednesday marked the start of the 14th national programme, which aims to discover and assist talented Saudi students in science and technology. Through January 15, 2024, anyone can register for the programme, which is administered by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba).

The National Centre for Assessment (Qiyas) on behalf of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission and the Saudi Ministry of Education are partners in the programme. Results of the Mawhiba ability tests, which are available in Arabic and English, will be revealed on March 13 after they are administered at Qiyas centres around the Kingdom from December 3 to January 18.

The deputy secretary-general of Mawhiba, Basil Al-Sadhan, stated during the launch that the student nominations for the 13th programme were of a high calibre. The National Programme for Gifted Identification was founded in 2011 with the belief that supporting gifted people was essential to the well-being of humanity and the advancement of sustainable development.

The Mawhiba ability exam has been taken by almost 500,000 kids, with help for 186,000 of them.
