Arab Week is being organized by the Arab Group at the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and will take place from November 4–5. The initiative, which is being organized at the request of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science, is being held at UNESCO's headquarters in the French capital, Paris, for the first time in over 50 years after Arab nations began working with the organization.
Prince Badr bin Farhan, the Saudi Minister of Culture, has implicitly supported the event, directing that coordination and understanding be improved with other nations in order to identify areas of agreement from which to begin development projects at different levels.
In addition to an Arab music pavilion, an Arab cooking event, a pavilion on Arab handicrafts, and another on Arab fashion, UNESCO's Arab Week features artistic and cultural exhibitions, such as a market for Arab cultural products, an exhibition on Arabic calligraphy, and another on photographs of Arab heritage sites registered with UNESCO.
A symposium on Arabic calligraphy, a symposium on artificial intelligence, a symposium on children's literature, and a symposium on the Arabic novel will also be included. An Arabic calligraphy contest, an exhibition of artists' and designers' creations, and a demonstration of sand drawing techniques are among the related events.
