Chinese and Japanese firms have inked logistics agreements with MODON

Logistics agreements have been signed by Chinese and Japanese companies with MODON, the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones. The company has joint ventures with AJEX Co. to run logistical services via a joint Saudi-Chinese venture and Kintetsu World Express through a joint Saudi-Japanese venture.  The goal of these collaborations is to identify operational logistic modules in Dammam, the rapidly developing industrial hub.

Additionally, MODON and TAD Logistics of Saudi Arabia have a deal that focuses on the expansion of logistical areas in Riyadh and Dammam. National investments are expected to soar as a result of this plan, according to the Saudi Press Agency. The statement was made at the Supply Chain and Logistics Services Conference, which was held in Riyadh from October 22–23.

The subject of this year's conference was "Towards a Sustainable Supply Chain to Enhance the Circular Economy," which emphasised Saudi Vision 2030's focus on the Kingdom's efforts to strengthen its position as a key global logistics centre.

August saw the General Plan for Logistics Centres announced by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. One aspect of this strategy is the addition of logistical hubs under MODON's auspices, dispersed among 17 key industrial cities. Eleven of them are scheduled to function as central internal distribution points.  MODON displayed its logistic services at the conference's associated expo.

Serving the public and commercial sectors, the emphasis stayed on the incentives in the industrial centres of the Kingdom that were just waiting to be discovered. Large domestic and foreign industrial enterprises are anticipated to show strong interest in the effort, which will support the country's economy and propel the logistics industry.

The accomplishments that MODON reached in 2023 were proof of its dedication to excellence. The body declared that total investments had increased to above SR400 billion ($106 billion). Moreover, the authority has played a pivotal role in augmenting the count of functional factories to more than 6,000, dispersed around an expansive 202 million square metres in 36 discrete industrial cities.
