First phase of “Elevate Program” launched; aims to train 1,000 women representing 28 countries on data and AI domains

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), in cooperation with Google Cloud, has launched the first phase of the “Elevate Program”, the first of its kind in the world that aims to train 1,000 women representing 28 countries on data and artificial intelligence (AI) domains.

The first phase of the "Elevate Programme," the first programme of its type in the world that intends to teach 1,000 women from 28 different countries in data and artificial intelligence (AI) sectors, has been launched by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) in collaboration with Google Cloud.

The second Global AI Summit, held in Riyadh in September 2022, saw the introduction of the Elevate Programme, which will last through August 30, 2023.

The SDAIA emphasised that the first part of the programme is delivered through two tracks, one for technical specialists and the other for non-specialists who seek to expand their abilities, under the supervision of 16 female and male trainers from the authority.

By teaching more than 25,000 women over the course of the next five years, it hopes to enable women in developing economies to seek new careers in the AI and ML fields.

In order to ensure that they are well-prepared to pursue the growing number of employment possibilities in these sectors, the programme targets women in the domains of technology and science who are interested in pursuing careers in the fields of data, AI, and ML.

Additionally, it aims to eliminate the gender gap in STEM fields, particularly in developing markets.

By increasing awareness and certifying cadres in data and AI, SDAIA is advancing the Kingdom's march towards global leadership in the field of AI with the introduction of the Elevate Programme.

In order to accomplish the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, this will be done by supplying them with the information and skills they require through specialised programmes in line with the most recent worldwide best practises provided by SDAIA Academy.
