Five-days long Al-Qunfudah Mango Festival will conclude on Saturday

This week, the 12th Al-Qunfudah Mango Festival began in the presence of local growers and government representatives.

The Western Corniche of Al-Qunfudah is the site of a five-day celebration that will culminate on Saturday.

According to Hassan Al-Muaidi, the director of the Al-Qunfudah office of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, Al-Qunfudah is recognised for producing significant numbers of mangoes and is regarded as the second top producer of mangoes in the Kingdom after the Jazan area.

Al-Qunfudah has more than 3,000 fields and around 500,000 mango trees, generating an estimated 45,000 tonnes of mangoes annually, the speaker continued.

Farmers in the area benefit from the event because it teaches them how to market their goods more effectively and offers advice on farming.

Mango agriculture in the area began more than 50 years ago; its production season starts in the middle of March, and its three-month long harvesting period begins in May.
