NewsFlynas, the low-cost airline based in Saudi Arabia, opened its newest operation base at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah on Friday, according to a report from the Saudi Press Agency. Along with the four already-existing destinations, which are Madinah to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Cairo, the airline also launched six new routes and destinations: two domestic flights to Abha and Tabuk, and four international flights to Dubai, Amman, Istanbul, and Ankara. It increases the number of locations that Flynas now serves from its new operating headquarters in Madinah to ten.
As part of its expansion and growth plans, Flynas, the leading low-cost carrier in Saudi Arabia, has become the only airline with four bases throughout the Kingdom. This development aligns with the National Civil Aviation Strategy and the Pilgrim Experience Program's goals of facilitating access to the Two Holy Mosques.
By 2030, the plan would allow domestic airlines to reach 330 million passengers and draw 100 million visitors yearly, in addition to helping to link 250 foreign locations to the Kingdom.
Bander Al-Mohanna, CEO and managing director of Flynas said that one of its essential aspects was concluding a contract with Airbus last June for thirty more A320neo planes, as part of an order for 120 Airbus planes and authorization to expand fresh orders to 250.
Since launching in 2007, Flynas has transported more over 60 million people, connecting more than 70 local and international destinations with more than 1,500 weekly flights. In keeping with Saudi Vision 2030's goals, it seeks to reach 165 local and foreign locations.
