Foreign private aviation companies allowed to operate chartered flights for domestic passengers
05 Feb 2025
NewsIt has been announced by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) that foreign private aviation firms will be permitted to run chartered flights to carry domestic passengers in Saudi Arabia.
Beginning on January 5, 2025, international private aviation businesses that fulfill the Authority's requirements will be able to obtain approval from GACA to transport people on non-scheduled domestic flights.
According to GACA Director General Eng. Imtiaz Manzari, the Authority is trying to lift limits on charter airplane operations inside Saudi Arabia.
GACA plans to remove cabotage, or prohibitions on domestic air travel to improve competition, draw in foreign investment, and give general aviation companies more freedom.
