Future Factories Program' website has been launched aiming to link factories with service providers

The Future Factories Programme website has been launched by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources (MIM), with the objective of facilitating the connection between service providers and factories. Since the Future Factories Programme uses the Smart Industries Readiness Index (SIRI) methodology—which Saudi Arabia embraced and the World Economic Forum approved—to evaluate the digital maturity of factories, the ministry began with those that had passed the SIRI review. This will make it possible for 4,000 factories to be transformed in order to implement sophisticated industrial solutions and practises, as well as operational efficiency and automation.

Through two tracks, the programme seeks to advance Saudi Arabia's industrial sector and guarantee that factories pass the second stage of the SIRI examination. The first track aims to build new factories in accordance with operational excellence and contemporary manufacturing techniques. The goal of the second track is to transform current factories into cutting-edge factories.

The program's website, which is accessible in both Arabic and English, provides an explanation of the SIRI evaluation, its levels, dimensions, and axes in order to help national factories have a thorough understanding of the transformation process. In order to increase understanding of contemporary manufacturing tools, procedures, and practises, the website also offers knowledge aids.

The ministry established the Future companies Programme with a number of objectives, such as lowering manufacturing costs, decreasing dependency on unskilled labour, and encouraging companies to follow global best practises in the areas of the fourth industrial revolution. In addition, it seeks to improve the operational effectiveness and competitiveness of both new and existing factories across all industrial sectors, with a particular emphasis on key industries.
