NewsDuring the holy month of Ramadan, the management of the Haramain High-Speed Railway has raised the number of daily train trips between Makkah and Madinah to over 100.
This will allow for a smooth flow of Umrah pilgrims and tourists between the two holy towns during the busiest time of the year for the pilgrimage.
During the month of Ramadan, the railway management made extensive preparations to handle the massive influx of Umrah pilgrims and tourists to Saudi Arabia via King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Muhammad International Airport in Madinah.
It is noteworthy that the Grand Mosque in Makkah, the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah, the city of Jeddah, and the King Abdullah Economic City are all drawing an increasing number of tourists and pilgrims through the five stations on the Haramain Train, which has been outfitted with full services.
Since it began operating, the railway, which links Makkah and Madinah via Jeddah and Rabigh, has made more than 25,000 trips while keeping a 95 percent accuracy in the schedule of services.
During rush hours, there are two trips per hour between Makkah and Madinah and one travel per hour between Jeddah's King Abdulaziz International Airport station and Makkah station.
