Jeddah Mayoralty is establishing 20 water taxi stations the capacity to accommodate 29,000 passengers per day

The Jeddah Mayoralty is constructing up to 20 water taxi stations with a daily capacity of 29,000 passengers. These water taxi terminals will connect the Obhur seashore to Jeddah's northern and central districts. This is part of a major public transit network being developed by the mayoralty to alleviate traffic congestion caused by Jeddah's dense population and the arrival of significant numbers of visitors and tourists. The water taxi station developments are being implemented concurrently with the work on building an integrated public transport network that comprises several light and rapid metro lines as well as a bus network.

To decrease traffic congestion, the mayoralty began constructing a huge connectivity plan to manage traffic flow to and from the city of Jeddah. This agrees with a long-term transport strategy that will be executed after 2030. It has so far built 40 bridges and tunnels, the most notable of which are the Madinah Road Intersection Project in northern Jeddah; intersections on the Jeddah-Jazan Road and the Exhibition Roundabout intersection; and the intersection of the city road north of Al-Rehaili and the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) Al-Hima Security Road on the eastern side of Thuwal.

The projects includes an interchange connecting Al-Khair Bridge to King Faisal Road in Jeddah and transforming the first and second coastal sections of the Jeddah-Jazan Road into a 43.65-kilometer highway. The projects also included lighting the remaining portion of Madinah Road up to KAUST in Thuwal, with a 70-kilometer road link running to the university from the Al-Qudaymah crossroads and Osfan Road.

The completion of some roads in the Makkah region have also been included, such as the road project that runs from the Briman intersection on the East Airport Road to the Makkah - Madinah double road, with an intersection on the Makkah - Madinah Motorway and a link to the road leading to Hoda Al-Sham Road, with a length of 13 km with the intersection, and the completion of the road that runs from the Briman intersection to the Makkah - Madinah Road.

The projects also included the completion of Briman intersection road; lighting and concrete barriers with a length of 28 km; improving intersections on East Airport Road; establishing a road to connect King Abdullah Sports City to Jeddah city; intersections with a length of 70 km; four intersections and modification of bridges at the intersections of the North Terminal and the Pilgrims' Terminal of King Abdulaziz International Airport; intersections with a length of 70 km; four intersections and modification of bridge.
