NewsThe 15th Dhul Qadah, or June 4, is the deadline for obtaining an umrah permit this season, according to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. The choice was made in advance of the Hajj pilgrims' arrival in Saudi Arabia, which will begin on Sunday. The government reaffirmed that travellers cannot do the Hajj with an Umrah visa. All pilgrims with visas for the Umrah must depart by the 20th Dhul Qadah, or June 18.
Residents who do not have a special entrance ticket for the Hajj season are prohibited from entering Makkah, according to a previous announcement by the General Directorate of Public Security. At the access points on the routes going to Makkah, anybody without permission will be sent back. As per the rules for planning the Hajj in 1444 AH, the prohibition became effective on the 25th of Shawwal. Unless they have an entrance permit given by the appropriate government to operate in the holy places, the rules necessitate returning the car and expatriate inhabitants to their own countries.
People who possess a muqeem ID (resident identity card) issued from Makkah, an Umrah permit, or a Hajj permission are also excluded from the ruling. For the Hajj season in 1444 AH, the General Directorate of Passports has reportedly begun accepting applications for issuing entry permits to the holy city electronically for domestic workers and non-Saudi family members, employees working in establishments based in the holy city, seasonal work visa holders, and contractors with those establishments registered in the "Ajeer" system.
The service's goal is to streamline procedures for clients, reduce waiting times, and conserve resources. According to SPA, the "Absher Individuals" platform offers entry permits for all agencies, while the "Muqeem" portal offers entry permits for domestic workers and non-Saudi family members.
