The annual Noor Riyadh Festival is just two weeks away from starting, and preparations are already well under way.
The festival was started in 2021 and features participation from well-known Saudi and foreign artists. It is a celebration of light and the arts. It also includes shows, talks, workshops, and community events.
Known as the world's largest light art festival, Noor Riyadh is a component of the larger Riyadh Art project, which supports and encourages young artists to propel the Kingdom's creative economy.
Between November 28 and December 14, a variety of events are scheduled at three important locations: King Abdulaziz Historical Center, Wadi Hanifa, and Diriyah's JAX District. This year's theme is "Light Years Away."
Dr. Effat Abdullah Fadag, curator of Noor Riyadh 2024 and a board member of the Visual Arts Commission, says the title is inspired by the Thuraya star cluster, which has long been a beacon of hope and inspiration.
