The formal submission comes after Saudi Arabia first declared its bid aspirations on Oct. 4, with SAFF President Yasser Al Misehal signing the Letter of Intent, solidifying the Kingdom's commitment to join in FIFA's bid process. This historic proposal is Saudi Arabia's first effort to host the renowned event, highlighting the country's commitment to opening up new football possibilities at all levels and supporting the sport's worldwide expansion.
The 2034 proposal intends to provide a warm welcome to the globe and assure an exciting and unforgettable event for fans, drawing inspiration from Saudi Arabia's continuing social and economic change under Vision 2030 and the country's deep-rooted passion for football. Over 70 FIFA Member Associations from various continents have openly expressed their support for Saudi Arabia's candidature in less than 72 hours after SAFF announced its intentions.
Saudi Arabia is a recognised host for major global sporting events such as football, motorsports, tennis, equestrian, esports, and golf, having successfully held more than 50 international events for both male and female athletes across numerous sports since 2018.
