Sales at the fourth Saudi Falcons Club auction exceeded SR2 million after two birds were sold for SR192,000

According to the Saudi Press Agency, sales at the fourth Saudi Falcons Club auction surpassed SR2 million ($533,000) with the sale of two birds for SR192,000. Launched on October 1st, the auction will run until November 15th at the club's Malham headquarters outside Riyadh. Two falcons were sold for SR127,000 and SR65,000. The first falcon was a juvenile peregrine from the town of Haradh in the Al-Ahsa governorate.

The Northern Borders Region of the Kingdom's Al-Awiqila peregrine falcon earlier stole the show at the auction, selling for a record-breaking SR250,000. And for SR135,000, a shaheen falcon from Al-Lith city in Makkah Province was auctioned. The event's organisers stated that its goals were to support the nation's falconry legacy, encourage associated cultural and economic endeavours, and provide chances for investment in an industry that aided in the growth of the economy of the country.

The club discussed investments in falconry in Saudi Arabia, the industry's growth, and the rules pertaining to the purchase and sale of birds at the auction. The auction is shown live on television and the Saudi Falcons Club's social media accounts, and the club provides lodging and transportation for falcon owners.

In 2020, the club held its inaugural auction, selling 102 falcons in 20 days for a total of more than SR10 million. A total of SR8.3 million was raised for 95 falcons at the second auction, and over SR7 million was raised for 81 birds in the third. The sixth International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition, which drew a sizable crowd with a variety of activities, recently came to an end in Malham.

In addition to virtual reality shooting simulators, there was a tent at the event where attendees could practise shooting actual and machine guns. Apart from falconry and poetry, a traditional knitting tent showcasing antique fabrics, handicrafts, and accessories was well-liked. At the expo, Saudi firms also displayed the newest hunting rifles in various calibres.
