Saudi Arabia amends its Citizens Account Program making SR20000 the maximum limit for the income of beneficiary

NewsSaudi Arabia has amended the conditions of its Citizen's Account Programme to set a maximum income cap of SR20,000 for the recipient and his family members.In this context, a royal decree has been issued to provide additional assistance for the program's recipients and to enable it to reach the most deserving populations. The Citizen's Account Programme was created to shield Saudi households from the predicted direct and indirect effects of numerous economic reforms, which may impose an additional cost on society.
The proposed modifications will allow recipients to begin receiving payments in October. Families of six persons, including the head of the family, two dependents above the age of 18, and three dependents under the age of 18, with a total income of SR20000, can benefit from the revisions. Beneficiaries can learn more about their eligibility for assistance by visiting the program's website.
The program's goal is to deliver government benefits to eligible groups in a way that encourages rational consumption while also ensuring that support is efficiently channelled to various eligible groups. The financial assistance will be distributed directly to qualifying recipients. It is worth noting that the entire sum distributed to recipients from the program's inception till last month was SR175 billion. The number of main and dependent beneficiaries of the program has exceeded to more than 11.3 million.
